About Roberto Beraja, MD
Roberto Beraja, MD, is a skilled Ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and surgeries of the eyes at Beraja Medical Institute, conveniently located in Coral Gables, Florida.
He earned his Ophthalmology degree from the renowned McGill University in Montreal, Canada, in 1987. He then co-founded what is now known as Beraja Medical Institute, where he serves as the Medical Director.
He has performed over 20,000 ocular microsurgeries and more than 8,000 laser eye surgeries throughout his more than 25 years of practice. His dedication to innovation and advancing the field of ophthalmology has led to notable acknowledgments that include being the first surgeon in South Florida to perform CLEAR (Clear Lens Extraction and Replacement) surgery using multifocal implants to help patients see from near to far without depending on bifocals or contact lenses, the first surgeon in Miami-Dade County to be certified in Crystalens® implant insertion, and one of the first surgeons in South Florida to perform LASIK.
Dr. Beraja uses only the most advanced technology, including multifocal lenses and LenSx® bladeless laser cataract surgery. Before performing surgery, a doctor from his team sits down with the patient for a consultation. Based on his many years of experience and his cutting-edge knowledge in the field, he then analyzes all the information and devises a personalized plan for them.
His goal is to ensure the best outcome for every patient and to promote a healthy, normal life without depending on glasses or on medications.
