Custom Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery
Were you diagnosed with cataracts?
Would you like to depend less on glasses or contacts?
If you answered “Yes” you may be a candidate for the latest technology.
Safe, Gentle, Fast Recovery, and Lasting Results!
This surgery has progressed to a new level of exactness using the femtolaser to correct astigmatism, make all the incisions, and divide the cataract into very small pieces, so the actual time inside the eye is reduced to a minimum.
If you are considering getting the best technology available, this is the best time. A recent Medicare ruling offers patients financial assistance by paying part of the cost of the toric single vision high astigmatism implant or the 3-D multifocal implant when they are used during the cataract surgery.
Regardless of the procedure you select, you can count on us doing everything within our reach to assure you have the best result possible.

Different implants to suit your lifestyle
You may be a candidate for single vision or multifocal implants
Mature cataracts reduce vision and may cause glare, making it difficult for you to see well enough to do some of the things you do normally, even with glasses. Surgery may be needed to restore vision; this can be due to your natural lens being yellow and opaque.
Vision with Single
A single vision implant is used to achieve good distance vision. The Basic Single Vision Implant or the Toric Implant for high astigmatism can achieve this goal. Notice that you will need to wear glasses to read.
This implant is our preferred choice because you can enjoy seeing all three distances (near, intermediate and far) without depending on glasses.
There has never been a better time to start seeing without glasses!
Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery
Regain your vision!
We were the first facility in Southeast Florida to perform this procedure.
Basic cataract surgery is performed using a small blade to make an incision and remove the cataract without correcting the astigmatism (the oval shape of the cornea in front of the eye).
During Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery, the femtolaser allows us to correct the astigmatism, make all the incisions, and divide the cataract into over 50 small pieces so it can be easily aspirated. This increases precision and your probability of not depending on glasses after your surgery. Performing the surgery without blades leads to a faster recovery with less fluctuation of vision, and more accurate visual results.
Finally, recent studies have shown that patients who have been diagnosed with cataracts and undergo surgery live 40% longer than those who do not have surgery.Call now and make an appointment today!

Before the Operation
If you wear contact lenses remove them before we take your eye measurements. Remove your soft contact lenses for 3 days and your hard contact lenses for 4 weeks before we measure your eyes.
Our anesthesiologist’s recommendations are tailored to your needs. Do not stop taking aspirin or blood thinners. Come to the surgery center without having breakfast at the designated time. Make arrangements for someone to take you back home after the surgery since you will not be able to drive.
Our friendly staff is available to help you with financial arrangements and answer any questions.
First we take you to the laser room where the astigmatism is corrected and the cataract is divided into over 50 pieces with the laser. Then you are moved to the operating room where the cataract is aspirated and the lens you chose is inserted in the eye. The entire procedure is virtually painless performed using an intravenous sedative, anesthesia drops, and no blades, stitches, or patches so you can use your vision the same day.
After Your Operation
You can resume all your activities immediately except for swimming in pools or the ocean, doing gardening, and construction work for two weeks. After this period you can return to all your normal activities.
Apply all the drops recommended in order to ensure excellent healing.
The day after the surgery please remain at home so we can contact you. Do not miss your post-op appointments and feel free to call us for any reason if you need to see us earlier.
Basic cataract surgery is covered by insurances when the cataracts are mature and your decreased vision is not letting you perform at least one of your daily activities. The goal of the surgery is to improve your vision, even if you need to wear glasses. For your convenience we accept many insurance plans.
If you wish to see the world naturally without depending on glasses after the surgery then we will work with your insurance to collect for the basic surgery fees and you only have to pay for the Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant portion to see distance, intermediate, and near without depending on glasses.
We have different financing options to help you see naturally.
If you do not have cataracts or they are not mature, you should consider Laser Clear Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant to see distance, intermediate, and near without depending on glasses.
