It is very important to have periodic eye exams, stay healthy, not smoke, maintain your ideal weight, exercise, eat correctly, and take vitamins.

Swelling or bleeding in the retina is treated with medications that constrict the vessels. The medications are injected in the eyes without pain using a very fine needle. You may require more than one injection in each eye during your lifetime.

Before the Procedure

Injections require no special preparation. Buy the antibiotic drops you will need after the procedure.

You may have breakfast or lunch before coming. If you are using aspirin or anticoagulants, continue using them the day of surgery. Come driving to the Laser Surgery Center, you will be able to drive back by yourself.

Our friendly staff is available to help you with financial arrangements and answer any questions.


The Procedure

Injections do not hurt and take about 5 minutes. Plan to be in the center about 1 hour.

We prepare the eye using a sterile technique to prevent infections and use numbing anesthetic drops.


After Your Procedure

After the Injections you can resume immediately all your normal activities like washing, cleaning, exercises, lowering your head, or washing and dyeing your hair.

Use the antibiotic drops we prescribed and avoid swimming in a pool, ocean, or Jacuzzi, as well as doing garden work for two weeks.
