Are you seeing blurred?
Do car lights blind you at night?
If you answered “Yes“ you may have Cataracts
Cataracts can reduce your vision
Patients with cataracts often notice that they can’t see well enough to perform one or more of their daily activities in spite of wearing their glasses. This includes difficulty to read, sew, watch television, see signs or drive especially in very bright days or at night.

Your vision changes with time
As the transparency of the natural lens inside your eye changes, so does your vision
The normal human eye can see at near, intermediate, and long distances clearly. The natural crystalline lens is transparent, flexible, and can focus well.
Difficulty to focus and read without glasses is caused by your natural lens being larger, more rigid, and/or yellow. If you wish to not wear glasses you should consider Laser CLEAR and Astigmatism Surgery.
If you notice more glare and find it difficult to see well enough to do some of the things you do normally, even with glasses, surgery may be needed to restore vision; this can be due to your natural lens being yellow and opaque. If you wish not to depend on glasses after surgery, consider Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant.
There has never been a better time to have comfortable eyes!
Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery
We know you want to see well without depending on your glasses!
We are the first facility in Southeast Florida to have performed Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant. Basic cataract surgery is performed using a small blade to make an incision and remove the cataract without correcting the astigmatism (the oval shape of the cornea in front of the eye). During Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery, the femtolaser allows us to correct the astigmatism, make all the incisions, and divide the cataract into over 50 small pieces so it can be easily aspirated. This increases precision and your probability of not depending on glasses after your surgery. Performing the surgery without blades leads to a fast recovery with more accurate visual results.
Finally, a recent study shows that patients who have been diagnosed with cataracts who undergo surgery reduce their mortality risk by 40% as compared to those who do not have surgery.

Before the Operation
If you wear contact lenses remove them before we take your eye measurements. Remove your soft contact lenses for 3 days and your hard contact lenses for 4 weeks before we measure your eyes.
Our anesthesiologist’s recommendations are tailored to your needs. Do not stop taking aspirin or blood thinners. Come to the surgery center without having breakfast at the designated time. Make arrangements for someone to take you back home after the surgery since you will not be able to drive.
Our friendly staff is available to help you with financial arrangements and answer any questions.
Basic cataract surgery is virtually painless, performed using a small blade, topical anesthesia, and an intravenous sedative, without stitches or patches so you can use your vision the same day. A single vision intraocular lens implant is inserted into the eye where it gently unfolds.
If you chose the Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant, then all the incisions are made with a laser which is more precise than the human hand.
After Your Operation
You can resume all your activities immediately except for swimming in pools or the ocean, doing gardening, and construction work for two weeks. After this period you can return to all your normal activities.
Apply all the drops recommended in order to ensure excellent healing.
The day after the surgery please remain at home so we can contact you. Do not miss your post-op appointments and feel free to call us for any reason if you need to see us earlier.
For your convenience we accept many insurance plans. Basic cataract surgery is covered by insurances when the cataracts are mature and your decreased vision is not letting you perform at least one of your daily activities.
The goal of the surgery is to improve your vision, even if you need to wear glasses. If you wish to see the world naturally without depending on glasses after the surgery then we will work with your insurance to collect for the basic surgery fees and you only have to pay for the Laser Cataract and Astigmatism Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant portion to see distance, intermediate, and near without depending on glasses.
We have different financing options to help you see naturally. If you do not have cataracts or they are not mature, you should consider Laser Clear Surgery with a 3-Distance Multifocal Implant to see distance, intermediate, and near without depending on glasses.
