About Margarita Cardenas, MD
Margarita Cardenas, MD, is an Ophthalmologist at Beraja Medical Institute in Coral Gables, Florida. She specializes in Oculoplastics and Pediatric Ophthalmology.
Dr. Cardenas graduated from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia, where she received both her Doctor of Medicine, and her specialty degree in comprehensive ophthalmology.
She completed a Research Fellowship in Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma’s Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City and has been a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She also completed a Headache Fellowship at the
University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and specialized in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Cardenas is an active member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and has been a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology since 2011.
She’s passionate about giving her patients highly personalized care and helping them understand the importance of their vision by diagnosing and treating eye diseases promptly. She enjoys educating her patients about eye health and finding the best solutions to meet their needs. Dr. Cardenas routinely helps patients with eye movement problems, such as crossed eyes or double vision.
Dr. Cardenas enjoys treating patients of all ages and especially loves to help small children grow up with healthy eyes.
