About Angelica Ortiz, MD
​
Dr. Angelica Ortiz completed her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Business Administration and Chemistry, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami where she was inducted into the national academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she was awarded the prestigious Research to Prevent Blindness Medical Student Fellowship in ocular oncology. She completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Hospital, a residency in ophthalmology at Standford University, and a fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Ortiz is a compassionate, dedicated ophthalmologist specializing in dry eye, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery.
Family
Born in Mexico, Dr. Ortiz moved to the United States at the age of 5 and grew up in Iowa and Central Florida. She and her husband, Ben, have two young children and enjoy the outdoor life in Miami.
Favorite Things
Dr. Ortiz enjoys playing the violin, playing tennis, exploring new cuisines and restaurants, and cheering on the Miami Hurricanes.
